Brenda Colleen Christine

Brenda Colleen Christine, originally uploaded by RubyLith.

This shot was taken in Washington Square Park in the early 1980's. We use to meet here in our college days and hangout on the weekends. We'd listen to the musicians, people watch and you know, meet guys of course.
The three of us lived a few house away from each other on Staten Island. We were the adventurous ones compared to our other friends. As we got older, we lead separate lives but always knew each other would be around.

Colleen traveled the country, she married Michael who's in the Air Force. Christine and I stayed on the Island. Christine had 5 kids, Colleen and myself adopted dogs.

But life sometimes leads you through different paths. Today I went to Colleen's wake and tomorrow I'll be at her memorial service, at St Theresa's to say goodbye to her.

I've been thinking about Colleen and what I remember the most about her. Things like, listening to Jackson Browne, Alice Cooper, Peter Frampton and sunbathing in her backyard. She had a pool we all use to hang out by every summer. We had some great times together growing up. Stuff like, when we went on vacations together, cutting school, keg parties in the park, the Cregans' infamous garbage parties. What I remember the most was, she was a sweet person.

Say "Hi" to my Dad for me, Colleen. I'll miss you.

Bronte

Bronte, originally uploaded by RubyLith.

I had an assignment over the summer to shoot your pet. I call her "Little girl" but her name is Bronte. And she had to go to the Vet these past few days. So I thought I'd put a picture of her to show you what a cutie she looks like.

Bouley in TriBeCa

Bouley in Tribeca, originally uploaded by RubyLith.

Last Friday we met with close friends of ours: Charlie & Maria. We had dinner at Odeon's then had caffe and dessert at Bouley's. It was quite a lovely evening. They were troopers to hike down from Connecticut to met up with us.
